The Focusrite Scarlett Solo:

One of the best entry level USB audio Interfaces, Ideal for Recording Guitars and Voices.Best for the budding musician and guitarist, easy to use, comes with Ableton live lite recording software when you purchase the product .It is small and compact with rubber pads at the bottom,will sit nicely on any suitable surface, and does not take up a lot of space. Comes with two microphone inputs, an XLR input, and a 1/4 inch jack input. you can plug your guitars or bass into the instrument input. This interface will allow you to record, mix and play back the results in studio quality sound, It also has a headphone monitor output enabling you to monitor the sound. At the rear of the Scarlett solo interface there are two outputs to connect to any suitable sound speakers. There are two gain controls also at the front to set the recording levels. I have tested the Scarlett solo using my acoustic guitars and have found the results really good. I can hear all my movements on the guitar frets and harmonics . I am very impressed with the Scarlett solo USB interface .I am using the Ableton live lite version for my recordings. This is great for starting off, it gives you 16 tracks to use and has a lot of different instruments you can use and effects. The user interface is very easy to use, well laid out and user friendly. There is a help section to get you started and is very informative. I would highly recommend you to try this programme, i am still learning but am enjoying the process . There are plenty of videos also to help you get started off.  I am using a Rode M3 Condenser Microphone along with the Scarlett solo interface.The Rode M3 Microphone Comes with a 10 year warranty, it can be used in the studio or on location. It is multi powered and uses a 9  volt battery , 24volt or it can use p48V phantom power. It also has a led light which shows when the battery power is running low. The box includes a wind shield, Microphone clip, and a pouch for keeping the product in. The M3 microphone is Made from sturdy metal. Another part of my setup is the Roland A-49 Midi Keyboard Controller, it has 4 octaves and can be transposed very easily using the controls on the left hand side of the keyboard. There are buttons for pitch function, volume, and assign which is great,you can map the sounds and also assign different keys to functions. The keyboard is powered via a USB port which i find is ideal as you do not need another power cable. The keyboard also comes with a pitch wheel ideal for the bending of notes. My keyboard also has some great sounding Guitars which i can use along with numerous other sounds to experiment with.
